Back to the Jack Well: Edwards’ Delivers the Goods in Call of Great Bruins-Hawks Game

Well, Jack Edwards certainly hasn’t lost his sense of humor, nor his passion for the game.  His call of last night’s emotional Chicago-Boston thrill ride (Complete with the retiring of the #3 for Keith Magnunson and Pierre Pilotte) was terrific.  A few of my favorite, confusing lines:

-“Chara decked him like a dummy at a kid’s playground.”
-After Patrick Kane scores a goal: “Save the razor, the streak continues”.
-His enthusiasm after Khabibulin makes a high save in OT.

We’ve decided that, while sometimes he may go overboard, Jack Edwards is okay with us.  All we’re saying is, we won’t block you from the site if you vote for him in the Tournament of Announcers.

Welcome back once again.  Mike Emrick defeated Steve Goldstein in our first match, and moves on to Round two.  In our second faceoff, Vancouver TV play-by-play man John Shorthouse (left above) takes on the Stars’ Ralph Strangis (above right).  Voting ends at 6:30 PM.  Enjoy!

Game Center Live to Bring You Multiple Views of Pens-Flyers Tonight

The NHL’s GameCenter Live program has been praised by quite a few people around the hockey world.  The ability to watch solid-quality video of four games at a time definitely appeals to the hardcore hockey fan.  I’ve given it a shot during free preview windows, and plan to again if the NHL will offer it again.  But tonight is definitely a night I’d like to be able to shell out the $170.  Because the NHL is debuting it’s “Multi-Cam” feature.

From the NHL:

GameCenter Live introduces its innovative Multi-Cam in Pittsburgh on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. ET. The new feature allows you to choose from an additional two cameras on the ice. You are your own producer.  From overhead views to inside the net, only GameCenter Live and NHL.com delivers every goal, hit and save.

Sounds like it could be a lot of fun for anyone using it.  If you have the chance to check this out, send us an E-Mail at SMLepore@comcast.net and give us your two cents, we might post it in a future review.  The preliminary schedule for the NHL Game Center Live Multi-Cam Game is post-jump.
