John Forslund wouldn’t have been my first choice for the late game, but I’m SO GRATEFUL there is no Joe Benihaha from Washington this year.
This is why I feel sorry for Capitals fans who have to deal with year-round. I’m hoping that NBCSN felt like it had to have a crew in Vancouver for opening night, and let the CBC take over. I thought I read somewhere that Forslund (and maybe Hayward) were doing the Ottawa games 2-4. Glad the games are on and in HD, but would rather have CBC feeds.
I agree about preferring CBC but I’m not surprised NBCSN has their own crew in Vancouver.
Brian Hayward? Ugh he annoys me wish it had been Mcnabb or pang or rob ray
Oh, dear god, Brian Hayward is THE WORST.
I can’t believe someone watched him and thought, Yes–let’s give this guy a national stage!

Inside the Glass: Gary Doernhoffer (NOT) It’s Steve Coates as usual.
My bad, forgot which was which.
I’d rather watch NBCSN, but living in Mercer County, I’m considered by the NHL as being in *both* NYC and Philadelphia markets.
No Inside the Glass for Flyers TV. Coates is at ice level, but not in the normal between-the-benches location. No room there with McGuire and Ferraro working at that location.
Um, the man’s name is spelt Dornhoefer. Not sure where got that piece of information from but Dorny hasn’t been on air in many many years. Also as someone said Coatesy in a different location than ‘inside the glass”.
The pundits might wish to make you think it’s cause of the NBCSN and CBC getting priorities due their being network. In fact it’s because if there was a repeat of the occurances from the penultimate game between these two teams, Coates would tune Mc Guire up.
Go figure. My NBCSN HD feed is alternate programming, 1972 Summit Series. My NBCSN SD feed is Flyers-Penguins.
What system are you on? The NBCSN feed on DirecTV is just a DirecTV slide.
Comcast of central New Jersey (Mercer County).
Just a heads-up. Andi Petrillo is CBC’s rinkside reporter on NSH-DET not BOS-WSH (was a late change). Also, Ryan Rishaug is TSN’s reporter for the PHI-PIT series.
Looks like Comcast subscribers were screwed over this evening. Different excuses from their employees included a “technical issue” with NBC and “blackout restrictions.” Morons.
