NBC Slides Down to 1:00 p.m. ET for Final Day of the Season

We, as hockey fans, often complain about the 12:30 p.m. ET start time for the NBC Game of the Week. It’s sometimes prohibitive towards fans on the west coast, and it also prohibits the teams those fans support from getting into the Game of the Week. To date, three teams west of Minnesota (Dallas, Anaheim, San Jose) have participated in the Game of the Week era. But I digress.
Anyway, we’ll get a time change for the final game of the season. On Saturday, April 7, NBC’s Game of the Week will air at 1:00 p.m. ET. It’ll be a part of a day-long triple-header with NBC Sports Network to celebrate the last game of the season. With NHL Network airing a game at 10:30 p.m. ET (Los Angeles at San Jose), one would imagine the NBC Sports Network games would air at 4 and 7 p.m. ET, respectively.
The games up for flexing that day are Boston-Buffalo, Washington-NY Rangers, Pittsburgh-Philadelphia and Chicago-Detroit. So, we still won’t see a team out on the west coast, but the slight time change is nice.
