NBC Numbers Up in Detroit, Down in Chicago

Despite not having the greatest local numbers you’ll ever see from these two markets, NBC still performed well with it’s broadcast of Blackhawks-Red Wings.
The Detroit market drew a 5.7/13 rating, which was down 7% from the network’s last Chicago-Detroit game (4/10/11: 6.1/15), but up 8% from the market rating for the Detroit/Boston showdown on Thanksgiving. Meanwhile, the Chicago market drew a 3.9/10. This was down 35% from the network’s last Blackhawks-Red Wings game and the most recent Blackhawks broadcast on NBC (4/10/11: 6.0/17). Still, the network got the same national rating, so it means that more casual fans from across the country were tuned in.
