  1. Stu Dolgon says:

Regarding Alumni game, didn’t you post the following last week?:

In partnership between the NHL® and its broadcast partners, there will be one broadcast, using talent across all networks. CSN Philadelphia’s Jim Jackson will handle the play-by-play, CBC contributor and NHL Network’s Kevin Weekes will serve as analyst and MSG’s Al Trautwig will report on the Rangers’ bench while CSN Philadelphia’s Steve Coates will handle the Flyers’.

  2. Stephen says:

The three NHL games on VERSUS this week will be the finals games under the name VERSUS as it set to retire the name next Monday and becomes the NBC Sports Network.

  3. Stephen says:

Oh wow…new logo on NHL network….now I hav to watch….noticed they didn’t go w the one they advertised that says network on the shield …but oh wait we still have the big letters to the side of the new logo that if in case u stumble on to this channel ull know what ur watching as it reads NHL network ….can’t wait to watch NHL tonight (rip off from espn) ….but it will be different right? I mean it’s coming from the same studio as OTF but will be different cause it will share the same talent, producers, same in show graphics, just a different logo, intro, theme song….but it will be much different than OTF ….can’t wait…get the popcorn ready

  4. Plus is Weekes is doing the the alumni game; how can he do VAN-LA on CBC too?

  5. Stephen says:

Strader and Engblom are doing Stars-Blues tonight and Bill Patrick’s doing NHL Live tonight as well.

  6. Sean says:

Well NHL tonight didn’t feel special after first mins. Felt like OTF. Nothing was different. Amber made comments then jaffe chimes in. Amber makes comments weeks chimes in. The graphics were indeed the same. Intro I just don’t know. The jazzy theme just doesn’t do it for me. The flow was the same. Get the feeling this has more to do about NHL network moving to the USA and out of Toronto which means you can’t use OTF as it’s a creation of TSN. Just legal issue and relocation in the works for relaunch in sept. My take anyway

  7. JASON says:

NHL Tonight was more of the same. i stopped watching after 7 or 8 mins. When are they going to do research and find out what fans really want. People can say all they want that we are lucky that we have the channel. I say BS. I can watch and get quality Hockey Programming. They hired a guy from NFL Network for crying out loud. You’d think he knows how to add real value. The guys at NHL Network need to go to channel 212 / 213 / 216 / 217 / 218 on DIRECTV to see how it’s done. Real graphics. Even Tennis Channel has better graphics. Real Studios …heck NBA in comparison has a better studio (but worst than Tennis/Golf/MLB/NFL). The NHL is a decade behind.

NHL Tonight was the same stuff OTF was doing. Mark Preisler….it’s time to stand up / man up / produce up / bubble up / or boogie out….

  8. “NY Rangers Alumni vs. Philadelphia Alumni, 1:00 p.m. ET, VERSUS”

CBC is also showing this game.
