VERSUS To Expand College Football Programming

From Michael Hiestand of USA Today:
Versus this fall will try to be a bigger voice in college football.
The cable channel, says spokesman Meier Raivich, will formally announce Monday that its Saturday college football studio show will get a new name —College Football Live— and expand to include pregame and postgame shows for all 28 games on Versus or NBC, including NBC’s Notre Dame home games. Liam McHugh will become the show’s regular host — last year there were rotating hosts — and analyst Roland Williams will be joined by a new face: Doug Flutie, who has worked on ESPN/ABC games and studio shows .
The expansion of Versus’ football show, which will relocate from Connecticut to the Manhattan studio that’s used for NBC’s Sunday night NFL show, is the latest move to associate the cable channel — which will be redubbed The NBC Sports Network on Jan. 2 — with NBC Sports. That integration, underway since Versus parent Comcast took control of NBC, will be full-bore by next August, when the cable channel will carry plenty of NBC’s London Olympics coverage.
In case you were curious – as I was – I asked a VERSUS spokesman if VERSUS’ NHL Live and other hockey studio programming would stay in Connecticut, and it was confirmed to me that it would remain in Stamford.
