Looks like no games are up against the NBA finals:

The NBA on Tuesday announced two scheduling possibilities for the NBA Finals.

    1. If both conference finals end in 5 games, the NBA Finals will move up and begin on May 31:

    Miami vs. Dallas
    Game 1, May 31: Dallas at Miami, 8 p.m.
    Game 2, June 2: Dallas at Miami, 8 p.m.
    Game 3, June 5; Miami at Dallas, 7 p.m.
    Game 4, June 7: Miami at Dallas, 8 p.m.
    *Game 5, June 9: Miami at Dallas, 8 p.m.
    *Game 6, June 12: Dallas at Miami, 7 p.m.
    *Game 7, June 14: Dallas at Miami, 8 p.m.

    2. If either the Eastern Conference or Western Conference finals advance to Game 6, the NBA Finals will begin on June 2:

    Chicago/Miami vs. Dallas/Oklahoma City
Game 1, June 2: Dal or OKC at Chi or Mia, 8 p.m.
Game 2, June 5: Dal or OKC at Chi or Mia, 8 p.m.
Game 3, June 7: Chi or Mia at Dal or OKC, 8 p.m.
Game 4, June 9: Chi or Mia at Dal or OKC, 8 p.m.
*Game 5, June 12: Chi or Mia at Dal or OKC, 7 p.m.
*Game 6, June 14: Dal or OKC at Chi or Mia, 8 p.m.
*Game 7, June 16: Dal or OKC at Chi or Mia, 8 p.m.

The thing is that the NBA have scheduled the NBA Finals to start on a Tuesday and so the schedule goes like this: Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday, Tuesday. The NBA has been doing it this way for many many years. I believe the last 20 at least, but that is an educated guess. I am sure that the NHL doesn’t want to compete with that and respects the NBA’s natural scheduling of the Finals.

  2. E says:

This is just an awful schedule. I don’t understand why there has to be such a delay between game 7 and game 1 of the finals?
The finals should start Sunday or Monday the latest.

    • KevinS says:

Got to get some build up and let the players rest so that there is a competitive game one. Coaches should be able to put lines and strategies together and practice. I don’t want to see a rested Vancouver team take on a tired and jet-lagged Tampa or Boston.

  3. kevin says:

So if Tampa won they would have to play in Boston on Friday night….fly back to Tampa and then across country to Vancouver to play on Sunday? Yeah that makes alot of sense

    • Arthur says:

Hey Moron, they would have flown straight to Van after the game in Boston.
      Use your brain for once

  4. Mike says:

The league and NBC/CBC probably preferred Game 5 the following night, if not for UFC at Rogers Arena.

  5. kevin says:

    UFC = human cock fighting

    • KevinS says:

UFC sucks. I don’t get the whole idea of two guys just beating on each other for other people’s pleasure. Dana White is a loser that wishes he was cool. It just makes me think of the Roman Coliseum, but no one is killed (yet) and the competitors get paid.

  6. KevinS says:

I bet that NBC/Vs is happy now. They have one of their 7 in the finals. Now we will see what the numbers will be for the Finals with only one American and one of the NBC 7 in it. If Boston wins it then next will be Philadelphia (1975) then Washington (Never) then New York (1994). But, of course I am kidding on that one.
