Hey Steve, this is off topic for this post but do you know what Versus’ schedule is for the IIHF World Championships? I would really like to see USA/Czech tomorrow but Versus’ own website seems unaware they are showing these games and I noticed last night a Can/Swe replay was aired while my satellite guide said something quite different. Not to mention Versus’ own website shows tonight’s game is at 9pm ET when it is at 8.

I would love to know why the NHL thinks putting potential Game 7s on Friday and Saturday night of Memorial Day Weekend is a good idea. It’s like they’re going out of their way to make sure casual fans don’t watch.

If you’re having weekend game 7s, they HAVE to be on NBC. I’m pretty sure NBC doesn’t have anything important scheduled that weekend.

Yeah, it’s not like we’ve shown the Stanley Cup Final on Memorial Day weekend with great success.

    • nosferatu says:

They could have waited to see if the Sharks win tonight and then start the West final on Friday, if it is SJ-Van. That would finish things up the Thursday before Memorial Day weekend.

By the way: Memorial Day weekend?! When did that happen? Winter lasted way too long this year.

        Building conflicts in Vancouver Thurs/Fri
        Doesn’t anybody do any homework?

  3. Dave Sullivan says:

Thing is, if the Conference Finals are over by May 25, I can’t believe they’ll take ten days off before the SCF. Look for them to move up to Memorial Day weekend in that case. Incidentally, can NBC not be such a pain in the ass about this scheduling in the next contract?
