What’s Your Call on JR’s Marleau Comments, Readership?

Is JR over the line here? Or is it good for the game that some players are willing to step away from the old boys club and actually provide interesting television?

Awesome. He is paid to be entertaining on television. Not stroke the egos of players or cater to the old boys club.

  2. Jack says:

I liked it. Roenick tells it like it is, something more NHL analysts should do..

  3. Chris S says:

If Don Cherry’s big mouth has survived on tv for 31 years, why should Roenick’s comments be so frowned at? Let him say what’s on his mind!

  4. Kevin says:

Roenick is spot on. The Sharks should of won that game, but they threw it away and blame needs to be put somewhere. Roenick’s job is to analyze what he is seeing and he does a great job of it.

  5. E says:

I love it! I think Roenick a breath of fresh air. I would like him to be the #1 analyst on the games and replace Ed Olyzck.

    • Kevin says:

Too true. Ed Olyzck = Phil Simms as Jeremy Roenick = John Madden. NHL needs more excitement from its analysts. I like Chico Resch, Micky Redman, and Gary Green as analysts, they are fun to listen to and are engaging. Gary Green needs to be on Versus/NBC he has the John Madden qualities to be a great TV analyst. I am surprised that he is only on NHL on the Fly in this country.

  6. Mike in Idaho says:

Nice to hear some honesty for a change and I’m glad he is stepping away from the old boys club.

  7. Arthur says:

Remember folks, JR played some playoff games with the Sharks a few years ago. He has seen players like Marleau take a night off too often. It is refreshing to hear candid opinions from former players.
It might also be the spark Marleau needs to get his game going when a former teammate rips him on national tv.

    • Buzz says:

If I hear Edzo say time and space one more time I think I’ll shoot myself. Mr. cliche. Also why is Mike Emrick so popular? He is awful. he talks about the most inane subjects in the world and likes to talk about stuff that happened in the minor leagues. Someone should tell him he’s calling NHL games not AHL.

      • Arthur says:

You have no clue what a good broadcaster is if you don’t like Mike Emrick.
