NEW YORK (March 17, 2011) – Washington Capitals vice president and general manager George McPhee will be today’s guest on NHL Hour With Commissioner Gary Bettman on NHL.com and SIRIUS XM Radio at 6 p.m. ET. Bill Clement will co-host the show from the NHL Powered by Reebok store.
McPhee, who attended the NHL General Managers’ meetings this week in Florida, will discuss some of the recent trends in the game and how the stewards of the game hope to make the game safer for players.
Washington’s nine-game winning streak — the third longest run in franchise history — came to an end last night when the Capitals lost a close 3-2 game to the Red Wings. The Capitals’ six-game road winning streak matched the longest road spree in franchise history, but it also came to a halt in Motown. The Capitals, who next play Friday night in Newark against the red hot Devils, sit first in the Southeast Division with 92 points.
NHL Hour with Commissioner Gary Bettman broadcasts live on Thursdays from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. ET on NHL Home Ice (XM Channel 204 and on SIRIUS Channel 208 as part of the “Best of XM” programming package) and NHL.com. The show will re-air on SIRIUS XM Radio, with archived shows available for download via podcast on NHL.com.
The show encourages fans to call in with questions for the Commissioner. To submit questions to NHL Hour call 1-877-645-6696.
