I can’t figure out why the NHL would set the schedule this way. They had an opportunity yesterday to arrange for a big-market US matchup, if they’d so desired. That way, the game could have gone on Versus and had the night to itself. Instead it was Edmonton/Phoenix, a game that even TSN probably would have ended up with a disappointing number for.
And now tonight, 13 games on the schedule, so why is there a national telecast? They’re competing with local games in practically every single market. It doesn’t make sense.
