I still don’t get why the league opted to go with a doubleheader tonight. Not even counting the fact that, as a Sharks fan not in the Bay Area, I’m worried about OT in the early game, the fact is that it’s nice this time of year to have one game to look forward to every night of the week. It would have been a bit odd for everyone involved, but pushing back the Sharks-Hawks to Wednesday night (or playing back to back, Sunday and Monday night) could work, I believe, with building availability.

Steve posted earlier today, if Habs/Flyers goes to OT, San Jose and Chicago will be able to watch Blackhawks/Sharks from the start.

I’m in Ohio, so it won’t really matter. Of course with the way the game is going now, I feel kind of dirty–I’m sort of rooting for the Flyers, just so the game doesn’t go to OT.

Sadly the Habs look down and out. This series could be over very quickly. If the Habs had bounced back and the game had gone into overtime, DirecTV at least had an alternative channel set up to show the west coast game. And credit where credit is due, Versus has Mike Emrick in good voice this evening.

Gosh, its so great to hear Doc not being drowned out by two other voices. He’s got free reign over Olczyk. Has him on the same leash he keeps Chico on.

Best national work I’ve heard from Doc this year was when he worked solo with Pierre. With Pierre being between the benches, he didn’t talk as much as Eddie O does, and that seems to be when Doc really shines.

Doc was excellent last night. Such a contrast to the earlier broadcast of the evening…

  4. Screw Versus says:

Screw Versus. The audio was 1-2 seconds behind the video for the entire hockey broadcast and commercials last night. Completely unwatchable. No other channels had this issue.
