I’m going to hold my breath here and hope…On these games that Versus will be joining in progress–particularly those like the COL-SJ games where we *might* get to see part of the final period–will those games also be available via Center Ice?? Otherwise, this schedule is going to be driving many people to the brink of insanity. Or at least me.
They should be. I had Gamecenter Live last year and they didn’t black out any games that Versus only televised partially. I would figure that Center Ice would follow the same rules as it’s internet equivalent.
You make a gret point. I wouldn’t hold your breath that they will be on NHLCI.
Any chance that NHL Network will get in the picture and help out Versus with some of these games?
Why is CBC not televising Montreal-Washington?
CBC passed on it because of 2 things – first, they chose national hero Crosby against a Canadian team (Ottawa) along with Vancouver, another top rated Canadian team (CBC gets 2 picks, then its TSN’s turn); and second, CBC would lose a lot of the local viewership to French language RDS, making them a bad draw for CBC.
I thought they would take the Habs as well since they have a large fan base. I suspect they passed on this series because they figure that Washington will win it fairly easily and that it will be a short series. They are hoping that having a Pens Sens series will attract large viewing numbers because of Sid the Kid.
I’m sorry that Versus is taking the two eastern Canadian series since it means there will be no Hockey Night In Canada or TSN feeds on NHLCI for viewers in the States.
Can’t understand why Philly/NJ series isn’t front and center on NBC and Versus. I guess that confirms the Devils have no fans.
Devils have a good fan base. TV is deathly afraid of it for some reason. Consider that they really aren’t a big market club like the Rangers are in terms of their penetration into the TV market.
I better get the AVS GAME WED!!!!!!!!! We should not be forced to watch Wings/Yotes. Last year games were on CI that versus did not carry, but if they are carrying it I have no idea what they will do. But if I dont get this F***ing game, I will be callin Bettmans shows and personal office number and Jamie Davis to rant. They better not screw this up.
