So here we are. After what seems like years of voting, we come to the championship. I’m comfortable saying that I will be proud of our champion regardless, as here we have two legends in their own time. Voting will go until Friday at 5:30. Good luck!

I’m really pissed at SoSH for ruining this for me. Jack Edwards should be winning this.
So are you going to disqualify Devils fans for voting again and again for Doc, or do your rules not apply for your masn crush?

Well, at least someone’s admitting there *are* Devils fans…
In the interest of fairness, I’d also like to point out a recent spike in Doc’s votes, he gained 250 votes to millers 50 in about 30 minutes (5:1 ratio). Not as bad as Miller but still, this vote is a total sham at this point.
Na…this guy likes to pretend 3000 people actually visit his site, instead he had to post about this on every hockey message board on the internet to gain interest.

unless the votes alternate between the two, it’s a form of stuffing the ballot box. you do need something to keep unique votes better than a simple cookie. but i stopped stuffing votes last night after I got Doc even with less than 300 votes total. and if you don’t know that Bob Miller is the voice of the LA Kings, you shouldn’t be here.
Emric winning over Bob Miller is a shame. Nothing against Emric but Miller is hands-down the best. Just a shame he works for us in LA as opposed to a hockey market where there would probally be statues, towns, and babies named after him.

@Scott: Yeah, you’ve got a point. Steve’s a good guy — he hangs out on the same Devils board I do — and he does a nice job with this blog, but he does tend to come off as begging for attention. As an aside, I keep meaning to make this site one of my daily visits — insert the “this is relevant to my interests” LOLcat — but I keep forgetting.

Yep there are “No Devils fans” thats why this LA shmuck is getting “pwned” by Doc lovers, aka Devils fans who actually dont need voting bots to support their announcer. I enjoyed watching the 1,000 Devils fans at Staples Center drown out the rest of the Kings crowd. Keep believing what Rangers fans tell you, they are scared because the youth belongs to the Devils in NJ, the days of the Rangers fan in NJ is dying, day by day.
Devils fans > Kings fans, any day of the week. At least we show up in the first period and stay until the game ends.

Ugh, I can’t believe the praise “Doc” Emerick receives. He is easily one of the most annoying announcers, and as hard as he is to listen to he’s even harder to look at. Kinda makes me cringe. Bob Miller ftw!

Thats why he has a ton of emmy’s, is the lead announcer for every national US NHL TV contract the league has ever had since 1995.

Seems you don’t know jack about the Kings, their PBP guy, and their fans. Bob Miller is a hall of famer and has a star in the Hollywood walk of fame. The man is a legend among legends. As for Kings fans, no other team has such devoted and passionate fans… This team has been mediocre at best for 40+ years and yet they still show up to the games and cheer like no other. Do some research before you mouth off like an idiot.

That’s my point. I don’t understand how he gets all these accolades when he sounds like nails on a chalkboard. And no, television announcers don’t have to be “attractive”, but I’d prefer they don’t like burn victims either.
He has a face for radio, and voice for print.
I smell a bot in the works for Miller. The thought of Miller beating out Doc is insane!

Actually the most devoted fans in the NHL are from Philadelphia, and that is coming from a Devils fan.

Maybe the Kings can use a script kiddie to win a cup for once in there awful history. How sad, someone took the time to do that over an announcers poll.
The true winner = Doc
Bob who? Exactly. Doc is a hall of famer, despite what some silly poll says. Lucky enough to be a fan of a team that’s won three cups in my lifetime, one of which was called by the greatest announcer in sports.
To each his own, Wildman. I’ll admit to not being familiar with Bob Miller — I don’t have NHL Center Ice — but Doc definitely deserves all the accolades he gets. His knowledge of and passion for the game is hard to beat. And I’m not just saying that because I’m a Devils fan.
Now, Gary Thorne… THAT’s a man who should never broadcast a hockey game ever again. Talk about nails on a chalkboard…

Bob Miller makes watching the kings a hell of a lot better, seeing as how bad they have been playing the past couple of game.
