This was originally headed for the earlier NHL Network post, but I felt it deserved it’s own.  Many Americans reading this may not know who Dave Hodge is, but be prepared to get to know him.  Here’s a little bit of his bio, via TSN.ca:

Dave Hodge has been a sports journalist for more than four decades and has developed a reputation for asking tough and insightful questions.

Hodge hosts his own 30-minute weekly sports talk show, TSN The Reporters with Dave Hodge. Airing Sundays at 10:30 a.m. ET, the no-holds-barred live roundtable sports debate show delves deep into the heart of the world of sports to tackle the week’s most pressing – and controversial – issues. Recently, TSN The Reporters with Dave Hodge was nominated for a 2008 Gemini Award in the Best Sports Analysis or Commentary Program, Series or Segment.

A two-time Gemini Award winner, Hodge also provides commentary and analysis for TSN’s extensive NHL coverage.

So now that your caught up, get ready for “The Hodge Stove League”.  It appears to be an interview series wherein Dave Hodge takes on some of the more interesting figures in today’s game.  He certainly starts off well, as the first two weeks of the program feature Dallas Stars goaltender Marty Turco and NHL Director of Officiating Stephen Walkom.  This is one of those things we hope someone will YouTube, because it’s something we’d like to see.  Get working on that equity stake, Verizon!

“The Hodge Stove League” premieres tonight at 7PM on NHL Network, with new episodes airing presumably every Tuesday at 7.
