REPORT: VERSUS Closing In On Deal For College Hockey, Juniors To Follow?

Via Skip Berry, who tweeted the info:

Major development in NCAA Hockey right now! Hearing from sources that Versus/NBC is close to a deal with College Hockey to air games soon.

Versus would air a game of the week on Friday night and each conference would be featured twice (minimum), which includes the AHA. Big News!

I’d expect that the WHL/OHL/QMJHL get more games on the NHL Network next season. Might see a similar deal in major junior w/ Versus/NBC

I would love to see more CHL games, They could really tie it in with the draft better. Kevin

if it’s going to be major junior in the states, it’s going to be the USHL. Nothing else. They’re trying to grow the america game.

Could tie in with hockey day in america.

  3. Trent says:

Outside of the Mem Cup, CHL ratings are minimal in Canada; can’t imagine it being anything less than horrible in the USA.

  4. Patrick says:

Jr hockey??? Getting ahead of urself …not gonna happen…ncaa needs to grow and can draw off the demographics and can bubble up the overall growth of the game.
