Wow–after doing the Heritage Classic in Calgary just last night, I think tonight’s assignment makes it pretty damn clear that Strader is now clearly the #1 play by play guy for Versus (considering Emrick is rarely seen during the regular season on the network).
Should be an interesting trio to hear together.
I’d say it’s more likely he’s #2, and that there’s a real good shot (i.e. 100% confirmed) that you’ll see Doc tomorrow.
True–with New Jersey playing on Versus. I just meant that it seems like they haven’t used Doc for many regular season games this year or last–but I certainly wouldn’t be complaining if they did utilize him more. But Strader’s certainly a good 1-B type of announcer to Doc’s 1-A.
Strader has always been NBC’s #2 guy. He filled in for Doc at the 2009 Winter Classic when Doc was ill.
BTW, Peckham may be filling in for Doc tonight as he is sick again
