If I hear one word from a Hab fan this season about how badly their team is treated by English media (seriously, you’d be surprised about how often this happens), I will burst.

Well said Josh, well said. Already on the CBC website there was moaning about how the CBC was forcing the Leafs on the country yet again.

By my count five more Habs than Leafs games on HNIC. So enough already Habs fans, enough….

    • Josh says:

Heh. See, Leafsfan, I admit that my own issues are a little different. I’m a Sens fan in the Yukon, and my cable provider gives me the CBC feeds for Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg, Toronto, and Halifax. And last season at least, that meant that only when the Sens were playing a Canadian team on HNIC would I get them on one of those channels.

So, I appreciate that this season, CBC is televising every single Saturday night Montreal and Ottawa game, but I hope there are more nights this year where the Leafs aren’t the “national” game. I often got the Habs on the Halifax channel, but even it sometimes would show the Leafs, and the Sens and Habs would be confined to their little Ottawa and Montreal ghettos.

I think the CBC has made some positive steps this year, but I really hope that the Leafs aren’t the de fact national broadcast every week, and they actually start going with the most compelling game.

I would be satisfied seeing the Habs, Sens and Leafs get near-equal national coverage every year. It’s only fair.

As a ‘Nucks fan stateside, that schedule depresses me.

    • leafsfan1967 says:

J.M. you do have a right to be depressed.

As a Leafs fan I’m bothered that so many Leafs games are on TSN, since DirecTV rarely takes a TSN feed as part of the Center Ice package…
