Pens/Sens Game 6 Sets VERSUS First Round Record

From Sports Media Watch via SBD:

Through Sunday’s games, Versus averaged 552,000 viewers for coverage of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, up 24% from last year (445,000).

Already this postseason, Versus has aired its three most-viewed first round playoff games ever — including Saturday’s Penguins/Senators Game 6, which drew a record 788,000 viewers.

The previous record was held by Game 5 of that same series, which drew 739,000 on Thursday night, opposite the NFL Draft.

It’s weird that a Saturday night game feauring a Canadian team would do so well. People in Chicago, Boston, Washington, Philly, etc might finally be paying attention
