well, we may catch a break tonight. The Canada-China curling match was conceded at 7pm and CNBC has been filling time since then. Maybe they’ll go to the hockey game at 7:30pm instead of waiting until their broadcast window ends at 8pm.
my guess was right. hockey on CNBC at 7:30pm tonight instead of waiting until curling finishes at 8pm.
a good contrast in analysts on what became Canada’s second goal…on NBC, Eddie Olczyk saw the puck go through the netting right after it happened and said so on the broadcast (a few times). He was very much on top of it. On CTV, Gord Miller and Pierre McGuire were a little late to the show, not realizing it until the stoppage when Pierre jumped on the bandwaggon.
Be thankful that the Canadian curling team scored early and often otherwise CNBC would have stuck with curling and hockey would have been on late. As for the 10 PM eastern game it’s nice they are using the Canadian feed but due to the greed of NBCU we miss a goal.
i only made that guess AFTER the Curling game had finished very early. I never would have guessed CNBC to cut away from it at 7:30 in the 9th end to show hockey (poor Canada since both almost-overlapping games involved the host nation).
