Those would be “Qualifiers” not “Quarters,” correct?

  2. dyhrdmet says:

Of course, we have to rely on the NBCOlympics.com feed of the Canada game tomorrow night until 8pm.

    …And are we surprised?

    • dyhrdmet says:

no. Nothing that NBC does with the Olympics surprises me. I was just reading a blog post from a sports media columnist in Los Angeles who was harping on NBC’s “live” cut-in to the final seconds of last night’s game, but as seen on a 3 hour tape delay. How screwy must that scene have been?

I was just leaving a gentile reminder that we have to watch the first half hour online. But we SHOULD get the CTV feed for the game.

  4. nosferatu says:

And no contingency plans, either, as MSNBC won’t be on the air with any Olympics coverage at 7:30 (like last week when we got switched over after some women’s games ended early, before curling on CNBC). Thank goodness, though, that this is the last of this.

  5. sharksfansd says:

I hope ABC/ESPN is ready to open their pocketbooks, as it would be great to have them involved in future games.

    • DyHrdMET says:

I don’t know if I can stand watching the games on ESPN’s family of networks. they make good events just so hard to watch and they don’t really know the balance between sports, entertainment, and getting casual viewers.

Sadly, I don’t think we can count on the CTV feed being online. They have only used those once and a while. I suspect we will get the video feed with no play by play.

    • DyHrdMET says:

i’ll lean towards expecting the CTV feed. NBC only used the base world feed when there was no full game broadcast in both the US and Canada.

      • canadiansportsfan says:

Every game has been broadcasted in full in Canada. Some have been moved from one network to another during the game, but at the very least commentary was provided the full way through for replays.

  7. E says:

Anyone know which broadcasters will be used for each of the 4 games today?

    • DyHrdMET says:

My would be Doc and Edzo for the Canada game, which means Kenny and Joe for the Cezch Republic game at 10pm (different arena starting just as the Canada game ends), and Doc and Edzo again for the Slovakia game (same reasons). So I’d guess Kenny and Joe to even it out for the early game.

    • DyHrdMET says:

well, I was wrong on 2 out of 4. I will assume the same lineup (short of guessing the Canadian TV broadcasters) for tomorrow though. Never underestimate the peacock.

Same rule as last week – Doc & Edzo with Pierre for the 3pm game, Doc & Edzo with Joe for the 7:30pm game, Canadian TV’s broadcasters for the 10pm game (Peter Loubardias and Chicken Parm), and then Kenny & Joe for the midnight game.
