To give credit where credit is due I’m SO GRATEFUL that NHL Network has dropped their intrusive crawl at the bottom of the screen. It has been nice to actually see the whole picture this week!
On his weekly radio show, Bettman said that he would look into having the NHL Network stick with HNIC until 10:00 on weeks that they are not carrying both games.
He also mentioned that the reason for the switch from HNIC double-headers is that the League/Network considers “On the Fly” as its signature program and on Saturday nights at 10 there are lots of highlights from around the league that can be shown.
If Bettman can get the Network to stick with HNIC until 10:00 PM that would be helpful. I’ll believe it when I see it….
I still think showcasing the full HNIC package to an American audience is good for hockey.
