This isn’t a stand Steve. This is the NHL telling it’s fan base who are DirecTV subscribers that they don’t matter. If the NHL really cared they would be putting as much pressure on their corporate budies Comcast to settle this mess…..
Except for a miracle, which is always possible, this is over and DirecTV subscribers have a big decision to make come play off time…..
PS…. Anyone who sends an email to the ‘firstname.lastname@example.org’ email address will discover it doesn’t work!
I don’t know whether to laugh, cry or scream at the people who are running the NHL. They are running the greatest game in the world into the ground….
The NHL is almost dead to me now, thanks to the triple play of the Versus/DirecTV debacle, no MSG HD games on NHL Center Ice and now I see the NHL Network isn’t even showing the late game of HNIC on Saturday nights anymore. I have already canceled my CI subscription after having it since 1996-97 and am switching back to lockout mode. How many times have I heard that HDTV would be the salvation for the league’s TV woes and now they seem to do everything in their power to not let me see games in HD?
Oops I forgot to stay on topic. It’s outrageous that the NHL is taking sides in this Versus-DirecTV debate, they are so beholden to Comcast it’s pathetic. The NHL will suffer for this with decreased ratings since a lot of hockey fans have DirecTV and they deserve to.
