Sad news today. One of hockey in America’s classic voices, Fred Cusick, has passed away.
More details from The Bruins Blog.
Bruins fans, what are some of your favorite memories of the man who called Bruins games for more than 40 years?
I’ll always remember his prophetic call of Hextall someday maybe scoring a goal literally seconds before Hextall scored his first goal.
I guess I’m the only one to remember him.
He was an quality voice although his style wasn’t exactly to my taste….
I remem ber him, as well. I grew up in the ’60s and ’70′s listening to his smooth voice calling great and crappy Bruins teams with the same enthusiam. It hasn’t been the same since he left.
R.I.P. Boston’s Hockey Voice.
Fred Cusick and Dan Kelly……best ever. Unlike modern day announcers they weren’t infatuated with hearing themselve speak…..like Jack Edwards
