WHOO-HOO!!! This is the first time I can recall an Islanders pre-season game has been on TV since I watched a then-unknown Ziggy Palffy in 1994. Wow. No Tavares tonight, but that’s okay.
Finally!
The off-season is too long!
CBC’s showing a 1-hour “Hockeyville: The Game” special this Saturday night for those wondering, by the way.
The Isles have been shown in pre-season as an opponent for the Rangers or (in at least one case) Devils.
I don’t believe that there’s been an Islander pre-season telecast since October, 1995 when Howie debuted in an Islander-Ranger pre-season game.
Hit send too quickly. The local streak will end next Wedneday when the Isles host the Devils– that will be an Islander local telecast on MSG+.
A comment on this Discussion list suggests the NHL is thinking of NOT showing Hockey Night In Canada on the NHL Network every week…

I ask you, does it make ANY sense that the NHL would do this? Oh wait, this is the same league that is linked to Versus that can no longer be seen by millions of DirecTV viewers….
