Chris Zelkovitch has a fun media blog on the Toronto Star’s website

A couple of quotes from one of his recent entries….

Ed Olczyk is one of the best, but got caught nattering during Sunday’s Detroit-Chicago game. He was rambling about Detroit forward Mikael Samuelsson’s contract situation as the Wings scored their fourth goal. It’s the playoffs, Ed. What’s happening on the ice is a lot more important than post-season contract talks.

    And….

Why Bob Cole’s time has come: In his last game he credited a goaltender with a great save even though he never moved as the puck hit him in the chest and later identified a shot that just missed the net as a pass in front. Maybe it’s the glasses. …

I wonder what he would make of Joe Benihaha? :-)

I love Doc for trying to pretend that “Hockey Central” is popular show by giving them funny lines to segway into.

I’m just glad to have Doc and not the OTHER GUY doing play by play so I’ll cut him a bit of slack….

We’re sorry we tried to be nice about Fanarchy, guys.

A reminder: If the Hawks win, the chances of the SCF starting May 29th die.

I am torn between cheering for 2 sweeps and wanting long series. On one hand I would love to see great Conference Finals, on the other hand the nightmare of the Cup and NBA Finals going head to head worries me. I also wish I would have thought about this May 29th thing earlier, I would have blasted the NHL for the schedule of off days.
