Canadian Band Writes Anti-Coach’s Corner Song

This is Winnipeg anarchist-punks Propagandhi.  They clearly take things a little too seriously.  But they are also clearly passionate about hockey, and hate Don Cherry.  They, to me, speak for every disappointed Canadian dude who sits there and watches Cherry and are just shamed with what he says, and looks at MacLean and goes “Stop this!”

Well there goes 4:54 of my life I will never get back. What a load of rubbish…

… and as for them “speaking for every disappointed Canadian dude who sits there and watches Cherry and are just shamed with what he says, and looks at MacLean and goes “Stop this!” I think the people who do think this have more sense. They simply don’t watch the Coach….

Could we possibly keep politics out of this blog?

@LeafsFan: Well, sir, the post at 12PM will win you back, guaranteed!

  3. Leafsfan1967 says:

Thanks Steve, I shall stay tuned.

  4. I really like this song.

However, it’s mostly about the nationalism tied up in Hockey (and really, sports in general) instead of about coach’s corner specifically. Definitely worthwhile for a blog called “puck the media” since it involves hockey and the media.

Of course, not everyone likes political discourse. It’s a neverending discussion which at best ends in a shaky truce. Can be fun, though…

Cornelius I’m not against politics, I just don’t see a need to mix it with hockey. And I really do think that the best sollution for people who don’t like Don Cherry, is NOT to watch him…

  6. You’re absolutely corrects, leafsfan. He is pretty hilarious sometimes, though. It’s like a train wreck. Can’t look away, but horrifying at times.

Politics and hockey maybe shouldn’t be mixed, but they are mixed anyhow. It’s all a part of culture.

p.s. I’m not sure what your views are, but they are most assuredly wrong (kidding)
