Another update regarding Sunday night’s game on Versus… there’s, depending on which website I look at, a 50-70% chance of rain during the IndyCar race on Sunday afternoon, and with the IndyCar race scheduled off the air at 7, and the Canes/Devils at 7:30. Definitely potential for conflict there if they do manage to get the race started.
So if there is a rain delay of the race Versus will not show the hockey? Won’t that be great for the NHL?
Well I don’t know what will happen, just that it’s worth keeping an eye on… since the NHL has the preexisting contract they probably have priority over IndyCar, but if the race gets delayed a bit and runs over into the game, I think they’ll stick with the race… however the rain looks bad enough that I think it’ll probably be called well before the hockey game is supposed to start and they’ll avoid the conflict. But it could go any way right now, we won’t know until tomorrow afternoon.
Checking the Directv what’s hot feature, this game has been in it’s top five of most watched programs by Directv viewers throughout the game both in the Eastern and National categories. After Crosby tied it in the second it jumped to #1 Eastern, and #2 national.
Hopefully this is an indication of a strong ratings for this game.
